Licensed Professional Counselor

Thank you for your interest in EnergyWorks Counseling! My focus is to help you heal, energize and become aware of your inner strengths, by providing a neutral, nonjudgmental space to share your concerns, help you heal from emotional pain and move forward to where you want to be in your life.

My specialties include anxiety, depression, addictions, codependency and trauma. In addition, I have experience working with issues such as compulsive behaviors, self-harm, grief/loss, and disordered eating. I take a holistic, mind-body approach to therapy and integrate a variety of approaches to meet your needs, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Integrative Psychotherapy. I incorporate mind-body healing modalities, such as meditation, guided imagery, and tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique) to help you cope with and process difficult emotions.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, with over thirty years in the counseling field, I have provided therapy in a variety of settings, including private non-profit agencies, community mental health, in-patient rehabilitation treatment facilities and outpatient services. I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Marymount University in Arlington, VA and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.

Why Naturopathy
Addictions & Codependency

Compulsive behavior, in the form of addiction, can be associated with substances, such as alcohol and drugs, as well as with behaviors, such as gambling, video gaming and sex. Addiction affects not only the individual, but it also affects those they love, often in the form of codependency. We can assess and treat the individual suffering with addiction and educate and support those who have been emotionally affected by the compulsive behaviors of those around them.

Depression & Anxiety

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience. Through counseling, we can help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.

Telehealth Services

For your convenience, we offer telehealth sessions, in addition to in-person sessions.

Trauma & PTSD

Many individuals experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger following traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
